Seven Democratic presidential hopefuls are debating in New Hampshire on Friday night following Iowa’s chaotic caucuses earlier this week, and MarketWatch will be live-blogging the action from Manchester.
Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren and Andrew Yang will take the stage at Saint Anselm College on a frigid evening in the Granite State. The debate comes ahead of Tuesday’s first-in-the-nation New Hampshire primary, and as Buttigieg and Sanders emerged from Iowa essentially tied for first place. Biden finished a disappointing fourth in Iowa and will need to put in a strong showing.
The candidates will take the stage at 8 p.m. Eastern, following a day of mixed signals for investors. The U.S. gained a robust 225,000 jobs in January, the government reported. U.S. stocks, meanwhile, closed lower a day after all three benchmark indexes
finished at records.
