Bank of Korea will superheat banknotes to stop coronavirus


The Bank of Korea has continued to adapt its cash-management framework to the growing number of cases of coronavirus confirmed in the country.

In a statement, the central bank said the country’s virus level had been raised to “serious”, prompting officials to take further action to ensure cash does not become a virus transmission mechanism.
