Inflation in the eurozone declined in February on lower energy prices, the European Union’s statistical agency Eurostat said today (March 3).
Year on year, the headline harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) rose by 1.2% last month, down from 1.4% in January. In the same period, energy inflation declined sharply to -0.3% from 1.9%. The European Central Bank targets annual inflation that is below, but close to, 2%.
