Star couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have invested a combined 2.2 crore in Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa backed insurance startup Digit, investment filing sourced from business intelligence platform paper.vc showed.
The investments by the star duo came as part of the $84-million fund raising concluded by Digit earlier this year which valued the three-year old start up at $870 million.
While the captain of Indian cricket team Virat Kohli has invested 1.73 crore, actor Anushka Sharma has put 43 lakh in the company, the filing showed. Paper.vc is a platform which tracks private equity investments.
The duo now hold 0.25% of the shares in the company.
A mail written to the company late Tuesday didn’t elicit a response while a company spokesperson refused to comment on the matter.
