Financial services providers in Singapore and the US could soon be able to transfer personal information electronically across borders, following a new agreement between the two countries.
“The US-Singapore Joint Statement on Financial Services Data Connectivity is the first step towards understanding and addressing the issue of data localisation globally,” a spokesperson from the Monetary Authority of Singapore told Central Banking.
