Larry Bodin has been promoted to market president for offices in Onalaska, Wis., and La Crescent, Minn., for Merchants Bank, Winona, Minn. He succeeds Steve Christiansen, who retired from the position on Dec. 1.
Bodin has been with Merchants since January 2020, joining as a vice president and commercial banker. He has been a banker in the La Crosse, Wis., area since 2003, most recently with BMO Harris Bank. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Bodin has more than 30 years of experience in banking.
He currently serves on the boards for Chileda, an educational center for people with disabilities and their families, and the VARC Foundation, which supports local residents with disabilities.
“With nearly 20 years of community leadership in the market, Larry is a natural fit to oversee our Onalaska and La Crescent locations,” said Andrew Guzzo, regional president. “His familiarity with the local economy and dedication to putting the customer first will help us continue to grow Merchants into the future.”
Bodin has Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from Gustavus Adolphus College, Saint Peter, Minn.
