The Federal Reserve is still planning on introducing the long-awaited stress capital buffer in this year’s stress-testing regime, chair Jerome Powell told lawmakers yesterday.
“We do continue to expect and intend that the core of the stress capital buffer will be incorporated into the framework in time for the 2020 stress tests,” Powell said in his semi-annual testimony to Congress on February 11. “We are moving along on that and we are on track to do that.”
