Education technology startup Unacademy has acquired Kreatryx, an online preparation platform for various competitive exams including Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE in a cash-and-stock deal.
Kreatryx, founded by Ankit Goyal in 2014, will continue to operate as an individual brand after the acquisition.
“As we seek to deepen our footprint across multiple categories, we are always on the lookout for like-minded partners who share the same vision and have made a difference within specific test preparation categories,” Gaurav Munjal, co-founder and CEO of Unacademy, said in a press statement. “With its strong presence in the GATE and ESE (Engineering Services Examination) segment, Kreatryx will play a pivotal role in further building our dominance in the segment and bring us closer to achieving our vision.”
Earlier in 2018, Unacademy had acquired Wifistudy, a YouTube-based online learning platform. Sequoia-backed Unacademy raised $110 million earlier this year from Facebook and General Atlantic, at a valuation of $510 million. The company had claimed that it has over 90,000 active subscribers who log in to be tutored via livestream by 10,000 educators on its platform.
